There’s a lot of spinoff games out there based on a TV or anime series…but it doesn’t often happen in the other direction. The Ace Attorney: Phoenix Wright franchise is perfect for it, though, with its art style and its unique mix of drama and wacky humor.

  • Ace Attorney is a 2016 anime based on the Phoenix Wright series of video games by Capcom. The first season aired in Japan from April 2, 2016 to September 24, 2016, with the second season premiering on October 6, 2018. Funimation Entertainment has licensed the series for home video and released the first season of the series between January 23, 2018 and May 8, 2018, while the second season.

We don’t have many details yet, but more have been promised. At some unspecified time in the future. How many cases will the series cover? Will we see new plot lines and events? At this point, fans can only speculate.

Even so, we’ll only have to wait a few months to see the actual release. So…do you have a scene that you are particularly looking forward to? A wacky witness that you want to see cross-examined with full voice-acting and animation?

Capcom has officially announced that an anime adaptation of its wildly popular Ace Attorney: Phoenix Wright series will be airing in Japan next April in Japan. The April 2016 premiere date is also a nod to the series timeline, as the first games in the main series take place in the year 2016.
